In the aim of attacking the first conjecture of Montgomery-Vaughan on the distribution of values of the automorphic symmetric power L-functions at 1, we study the distribution function of the truncated random Euler products L(1, sym m g ♮ (ω), y) := p≤y det I − p −1 sym m g ♮ p (ω) −1 , where g ♮ (ω) := {g ♮ p (ω)} p is a sequence of independent random variables, defined in probability space Ω with values in the set of conjugacy classes of SU(2) endowed with the Sato-Tate measure µ st .

In this article we use our constructions from [BS05] to lay down some foundations for the application of A. Robinson's nonstandard methods to modern Algebraic Geometry. The main motivation is the search for another tool to transfer results from characteristic zero to positive characteristic and vice versa. We give applications to the resolution of singularities and weak factorization.
